Really good sushi and not expensive at all. No idea why some people on here refer to it as 'good but expensive', as we paid less than you would at any all you can eat sushi restaurant, but instead had really good sushi at Kaiko.

Very authentic sushi. Specially fatty tuna just melts on tongue. Soo delicious! The place itself is small but you get real japanese feel.Having good quality the price is not that high.

Best sushi in Amsterdam! The lovely Japanase couple serves the best and the freshest sushi in Amsterdam. The restaurant is very small and the ambiance isn't the reason you come here, it's the food! The couple only speaks Japanse and a very little English. Prices are very reasonable and almost cheap, the chef puts a lot of fish on every sushi.

Best sushi I had in Amsterdam. Even similar quality level if compares to Japan, especially the maguro sashimi. The portion is super balanced for chirashi bowl. And great value in terms of price and how much food you got. Chef is very nice and funny too. Highly recommend.

Just love the food here! Their menu is not really big, but boy oh boy what they do serve... its so delicious! always come here for my sushi craving!The chef is funny and polite, but the lady working there is not very warm. The price is higher (1.5-2x) than a all you can eat sushi place.But it's worth it every penny!!My only "complaint" would be that the interior is a bit old, but when you eat their delicious food you're in heaven !!

Probably the best sushi I ever had! It's very authentic and super fresh. The portions are big and delicious. Yes, it's pricey but it's not comparable with the usual "all you can eat" places in Amsterdam. The place is nothing too fancy, and quite cozy.

Best sushi place in Amsterdam. The fatty tuna melts in your mouth and the California Temaki is huge and so tasty. I never visit all you can eat places because i love high quality food. And this sushi place is the best.

日本にあっても美味しいといえるぐらいのクォリティ。If this place were in Japan, it would be on the high end in terms of quality. So by European standards, it's probably the best sushi I've had. Incredibly fresh fish expertly prepared. The side dishes are beautiful as well.The only downside is, as other reviews mention, the attitude to customers. The chef is friendly, but the lady is unnecessarily abrupt (even when speaking Japanese). I could tell that they are nice people at heart, just perhaps not very sociable. Keep that in mind, and try to look past it. Because the food is so good, it's forgivable.

Each time I go here the food is consistently excellent. I have tasted most of the menu by now and I can honestly say that each plate is a treat. They have a very nice unagi don. Highly recommended. Now some people complain about the table service. But hey the Japanese aren't always that exuberant. That don't mean they're not friendly. Authentic Japanese sushi! Reasonable prices and quite fast service. Opens and closes sharp on time. Quite small place with tables where it becomes loud if you have super active neighbors. Booking table by the phone was a challenge! Try some sushi with fat tuna but don't order too much - it is really fat :)

The quality of the food is very good and tasty and the price is also quite reasonable for the quality. Cosy Japanese style ambience is a plus too. However the service is almost non existent as several other reviewers complained. The staff there (woman) has no smile, no expression nothing. Didn’t even nod or saying a word when we ordered. Had to double check if she understood. It is such a shame!!

There are only 3 Japanese restaurants worth going to in amsterdam and one of them is Kaiko. The food is always fresh and delicious, I love their otoro and hotategai salad. Been going there for 5 years now and their sushi taste resembles the most from sushi from Japan. I really don’t understand the bad ratings :(. The staff is indeed a bit cold, but you should understand, the couple only works with the 2 of them. And the reason for you to make reservation,is that they can prepare the best food there is for the people who are coming. Some customers over heremight not understand the Japanese culture with the reservation system, but these people work very organized and have passion for there work.

Monday 19:15. Closed, and was not informed

We went on a Monday, the place wasn't busy. The food is quite good, specially the eel and fatty tuna. Portions are big; one piece of sushi is split to two, so it is actually two pieces.Unlike what the reviews said, the waiter was nice. She is a little quite, so she could seem not very "welcoming". But she is not rude.

Place busy with Japanese guests and kind service. However I wasn't impressed with the sushi. I experienced better and for cheaper price although not in Amsterdam.

Operated by old Japanese couple , the chef does really good job on sushi and sashimi. Recommend their Toro ( fatty tuna) also almond deep fried shrimp. Small place with only few tables, need to make booking before you go!

The sushi over here is the real deal. It’s hard to find a more authentic place than this outside of Japan. Great chef, food is well priced for the quality they offer, and the atmosphere is really nice.

Simply delicious!

I have to say that most dishes are good. Most sashimi, sushi and fried chicken.The Uni sushi is sooo disappointing. Not fresh at all, very smelly. Cannot believe it can be taken to the customer’s table like this.The service is slow and very cold attitude to my opinion.
